Breakage of these rules will result in a ban, followed by D00m.
Red= bad Blue= good
For convenience, a new rule has been added:
- You must put the time of day in your roleplaying thread title.
This is just to prevent confusion. The time doesn't have to operate on only the times listed in the Warriors Vocabulary thread. It could be something like:
Hunting -- Just before moonset
or
Training -- Midday
or even
Gathering Herbs -- Dead of night
It'll be a lot more organized this way, trust me.
- I would like to open this up with literacy. Now I can tolerate a few misspelled words here in there, but posts like this:
swifpaw waked thru teh forest
----
Or one word posts:
"Hello."
----
And double posts:
Person 1:
Swiftpaw took a mouse from the fresh-kill pile and sat down near a bush.
Person 1:
She started eating it.
----
Are very, very annoying. please make sure you check your post before posting.
Also, make sure you put OOC posts in brackets or parentheses.
e.g.
Who is Swiftpaw's mentor again?
Swiftpaw looked around for her mentor.
----
[Who is Swiftpaw's mentor again?]
Swiftpaw looked around for her mentor.
- Here are the three sacred laws of RPing.
* No god-modding. * No power-playing * No liquid time.
And an extra one.
* No Mary-Sues.
Rule Number 1 Explanation:
God-modding is when you make your character really powerful, and god-like.
e.g.
Swiftpaw dodged all three of the cat's attacks and ducked as another flew by. She then dealt a blow to one of the cat's heads and heard a crack. The cat fell motionless to the ground.
----
Swiftpaw dodged one of the cat's attacks, but gasped in pain as two of them hit. She barely managed to avoid one as it flew by and feebly attempted to deal a blow to one of the cat's heads.
This leads on to power-playing.
Rule Number 2 Explanation:
Everyone hates it when you roleplay their character.
e.g.
Swiftpaw batted at Meteorpaw playfully, claws sheathed, and almost giggled as Meteorpaw batted her back.
----
Swiftpaw batted at Meteorpaw playfully, claws sheathed, and tried hard to supress a giggle as she waited for Meteorpaw to do the same.
See? Now tell me you wouldn't be annoyed if example number 1 had happened in your case.
However, I am going to give you the full responsibilty of choosing whether or not a cat's attack (directed towards you) is a hit or miss.
Rule Number 3 Explanation:
Liquid time is basically when your character is in two places at once.
e.g.
Thread 1:
Swiftpaw readied herself to pounce as she saw a small wood mouse nibbling on a seed.
Thread 2: (at the same time)
Swiftpaw gazed lovingly at the newborns, hoping someday she could have kits of her own.
See? You try hunting a mouse somewhere off in the forest while in camp, looking at some kits at the same time.
Rule Number 4 Explanation:
Mary-Sues are characters that are perfect in every way.
e.g.
Swiftpaw is a beautiful she-cat that is the best in all the Clans at hunting, fighting, and climbing, not to mention she is extremely popular in each Clan and most cats agree she will eventually become leader of SkyClan. She is also wise, intelligent, and generous.
Basically the good example is the REAL personality and appearance of Swiftpaw.
-Ugh... no graphic mating or birthing scenes!
C'mon, who really wants to read that stuff? I'm not even going to provide an example. It's that gross. So it's an instantaneous ban if you do something purposefully horrendous like that.
-Now you are required to put your characters, along with a link to their profiles, in your signature or on a thread in the 'Your Characters' board.
- I have made a Last Wills and Testaments board for those who want certain people to roleplay certain characters of theirs if they leave. If you do not post there, by default the characters will be put up for adoption.
- You may only have two higher-power characters (important cats, excluding plot characters) and there are two conditions for having them:
1) they cannot be in the same Clan 2) they cannot be of the same rank
e.g.
You can't have a leader in ForestClan and a leader in SkyClan.
or
You can't have a medicine cat in BrookClan and a medicine cat in FireClan.
However, you CAN have something like:
A medicine cat apprentice in FireClan and a leader in ForestClan.
or
A deputy in BrookClan and a medicine cat in SkyClan.
-There is now a name limit. The number of syllables each prefix and suffix can have in each name is 2. That being said, this only applies to Clan cats or cats who have left their Clan but kept their name.
-No kits or pregnant queens may be created.
- When a Clan has 6 cats more than at least one other Clan, a ban is placed on creating cats on that Clan. 3 more cats in the neglected Clan must be created before the ban is lifted.
So, that's basically it for RPing rules. Please follow them.
Thanks!
